Ryan has been working in the renewable energy field since 1999 and founded Mayfield Renewables in 2007. Ryan has been widely known for his commitment to understanding and demystifying codes and standards for the PV and energy storage industry for decades. His career has blended technical expertise with an affinity for writing and education. While leading Mayfield Renewables, Ryan was also the PV Systems Technical Editor for SolarPro Magazine from 2010 to 2018, where he wrote feature articles and was a regular contributor to Home Power magazine. He also authored PV Design and Installation for Dummies (published in 2010) and teaches nationwide PV courses on topics including National Electrical Code, Commercial PV System Design Best Practices, and Microgrid Considerations. Ryan is a member of the Code Making Panel 13 charged with reviewing NEC sections 480 and 706.
